Ms. Winslow is the Director of Nursing Education/Community Services at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She is currently responsible for centralized department of nursing education, community health partnership initiatives, life support training, community events and screenings. She has been involved at the board level with numerous local nonprofits including the Martha Jefferson Homecare Advisory Board, JMU Nursing Advisory Board, Senior Center, Inc., UVa School of Nursing Advisory Board, and the Jefferson Area Board of Aging. Her articles have been published in numerous professional journals, and she has been a featured speaker at healthcare conferences in both Charlottesville, VA and Washington DC.

Louise is the former President and Partner of MVBMS Euro RSCG, a $1Billion plus advertising agency, based in New York City. Ms. McNamee's career expertise is in strategic planning, brand development and product innovation. Among her agency's clients were Nestle, Danone, JP Morgan Chase, and Schering-Plough. She has been a frequent speaker at marketing conferences and was recognized for her work by being named "A Leader and Legend" by Advertising Age Magazine and "Advertising Woman of the Year" by the Advertising Women of New York. She is currently the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Mary Baldwin College. She is a former a trustee of the Museum of the City of New York. She and her husband, Peter McHugh, moved to Charlottesville in 2008.
Sherri is in practice as an attorney in Charlottesville and is a Certified Mediator.

Ms. Day has worked with nonprofits for 15 years. Strengths include community outreach, marketing/development, and strategic planning. She has provided professional and volunteer support to programs at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Page Ahead, Literacy Council of Seattle, Hopscotch Adoptions and The Women’s Funding Alliance. She is an author and freelance writer with more than 30 published articles.

Bebe has more than 11 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. She donates 100% of her time. She has seen a wide range of clients who are dealing with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, substance abuse issues, and post traumatic stress disorder. Her preferred modalities include long-term psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Chris has been working in the human services field in Charlottesville since 1998. She received her master’s degree in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and has been counseling women and their families for the past 7 years. Her training has primarily focused on providing psychodynamic therapy for individuals dealing with a wide range of problems.
Interim Program Director
Elizabeth began working with women and trauma 13 years ago at a resource agency for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Since that time, she has gone on to receive her master's in Social Work and Juris Doctor at UNC Chapel Hill. She specializes in trauma, addiction recovery and empowerment for English and Spanish speaking women. She incorporates a variety of theoretical modalities, including EMDR, mindfulness-based practices, family systems and grief work all from a strengths-based perspective. She currently provides individual, couples and group therapy at The Women's Initiative.

Sarah earned her Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling at The Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Virginia Counseling Association, and Chi Sigma Iota, an international honor society for students, professional counselors and counselor educators. She is trained in both brief-term and long-term cognitive behavior therapy.

Amy Alson, M.D. received her B.A. from Duke University, her M.D. from St. George's University School of Medicine, and completed residency training in Internal Medicine & Psychiatry at the University of Virginia. She puts her dual training to use with a particular focus on the treatment of individuals with eating disorders as well as other conditions at the interface between general medicine and psychiatry.
Pro-Bono Therapist
Rachael brings 37 years of experience providing counseling, psychotherapy, and hypnotherapy. She has worked extensively with adult survivors of childhood trauma, sexual, physical, and emotional abuse as well as those experiencing domestic violence, addictions, co-dependency and more. Additionally, Rachael has worked with the LGBT communities around sexual orientation issues and relationships since 1977.
Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy addresses the body, mind, and spirit and involves the exploration of the deepest levels of who we are, going beyond the symptoms or behaviors that are presented on the surface. It assists the client in knowing herself more fully so that the work of healing can proceed efficiently.
