Finding Home is a supportive space for LGBTQ+ individuals to explore the complexities of family, grief, and belonging. Through guided discussion, reflection, and creativity, this group holds space for processing experiences of disconnection and loss, while also offering a place to explore what it means to create and nurture chosen family. Topics may include navigating familial boundaries, reconciling or releasing relationships, grief rituals, and what it means to create a sense of home. Grounded in affirming, trauma-informed care, this group welcomes all queer identities and experiences. This group is open to all queer identities 18+ who reside in the city of Charlottesville or the counties of Albemarle, Nelson, Greene, Louisa, or Fluvanna. Facilitated Alethea Burns, MSW, and Elizabeth E. Cobb, LCSW.
